Jeff Tinsley composes music for film, television, and video games. He is also in high demand as an orchestrator and conductor. Jeff received his musical training from the University of Oregon, as well as USC's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program, where he studied under top industry professionals including Bruce Broughton, Christopher Young, and Garry Schyman.
Jeff relies on his classical training to produce innovative scores that draw from both orchestral traditions and modern scoring techniques. The result is that each project he works on receives a truly unique and dramatically engaging sound, with strong, memorable themes and emotional sonic textures.
Jeff grew up in Salem, Oregon, and then in 2011 moved to Los Angeles to fully commit to his passion for film scoring. He continues to pursue that dream, as each new experience leads to new and exciting possibilities in creating music for motion pictures.
I grew up in Salem, and then studied Percussion Performance as well as Composition at the University of Oregon. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition in 2010. I collaborated with local musicians and ensembles on many occasions during that time, for performances and recordings.
In 2012, I scored a film that was made by the UO marketing department, called "Meet Me at the S.U." The score was recorded by the UO Jazz department, and I traveled from Los Angeles to have that recording session with them at the school.
